Prototype 2 requirements

Prototype 2 came out for the consoles a few months back and the PC gamers have sat waiting paitently for it to come to the most powerful platform.

Lets take a look at what the Prototype 2 system requirements are going to look like...

Prototype 2 Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows® XP/Vista/7

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750

RAM: 2 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT series with 512 MB RAM or ATI Radeon HD 4850 with 512 MB RAM

DX: 9.0C or later

HDD: 10 GB Free Hard Drive Space

Input: Keyboard, Mouse, Xbox 360® Controller

Prototype 2 Recommended System Requirements

OS: 7

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.7 GHz or better, AMD Phenom II X4 3 GHz or better

RAM: 4 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (1GB) / ATI Radeon HD 5850 (1GB) or better

So in our opinion those are pretty heavy, especially the entry level minimum requirements for PT2. We have added our own adjusted requirements as usual that we will be adjusting based on real world feedback. So please drop back in to our Prototype 2 ratings page and give us your report so we can further refine your results when you visit to look at another game here in the future.

Submit A Benchmark

Welcome. From this page you can submit a personal benchmark to GD. Once approved by GD admin everyone can search for your bench results here. The more results the more we all learn.

There are lots of free benchmark tools that test parts of your PC. Select a Type in the form to the right, then select a Tool and then select a Test. You will see a weblink appear beside your selection. Click this link to get the benchmark Tool. Try NovaBench for an all in one benchmark that is only 12Mb to download.

How To

Run your choosen Benchmark Tool on your PC, using the benchmark tool's default setting. Take a screenshot displaying the benchmark score and information displaying your rig and submit that to us.

These specs mean either that 1) the game has been super-optimized for PC and has a bunch of awesome visual extras not on the console version, or 2) the game has not at all been optimized for the PC. My money is on 2: I'm sure Activision knows this game will sell about a bazillion more copies on the consoles, and the PC version has gotten the short end of the stick. Plus, it only requires DX9, so theoretically it shouldn't be that difficult to run, and it shouldn't require a 400-series GeForce.

I am inclined to agree here. I dont think it will require that heavy a rig to run.
