Transformers Fall Of Cybertron Requirements

The next episode in the Transformers universe is Transformers Fall Of Cybertron and releases in just a few weeks. The third person shooter transports the player to the final days of the planet Cybertron, where the autobots battle it out with the Decepticons.

Lets take a look at the Transformers: Fall of Cybertron system requirements to see if you can play it...

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Minimum System requirements

OS: Windows® XP/Vista/7

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750

RAM: 2 GB memory

HDD: 8.4GB Free Space

GPU: GeForce 8800 GT series with 512 MB RAM or ATI Radeon HD 4850 with 512 MB RAM

DX: DirectX 9.0c or DirectX 10

AUDIO: DirectX compatible Sound card

OTHER: Broadband connection and service required for Multiplayer Connectivity. Internet connection required for activation.

As you can see everyones favourite 8800 GT makes its appearance once again.

It doesn't look too challenging for most current PCs. However Activision's Associate Producer J.D. Livergood recently said the game will "receive enhanced textures, lighting, and shadows in the PC version so that the Unreal Engine 3 powered game can take advantage of the extra horsepower in today’s PC versus console tech that is at least six years old."

The game will use Steamworks achievements and matchmaking. It will only be available via Steam in North America as no retail boxed copies are planned.

This doesn't look like anything special, in my opinion. The graphics look pretty generic and so does the gameplay. Some people may disagree with me but I though War for Cybertron was painfully generic overall. I'll pass.

I would have agreed with you before the first Transformers game came out, but I ended up really enjoying it. The graphics were good, but the gameplay was what really sold me. The controls were tight and transforming between robot and vehicle was seamless. My major complaint was the environments never changed, and it ended up feeling a little stale sooner than it should have. I'm hoping that's been somewhat fixed for the sequel. Knowing that the PC version has been given a bit more graphical attention helps, too.
Hey, I was a kid in the '80s, so I grew up with Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Star Wars... I'm a sucker for nostalgia.

I was starting to wonder as well, since the first Transformers game disappeared from Steam for a while.
