One of our own GD members came to me today and showed me his video review of the PC version of Prototype 2 and I loved it. Without further ado I will let NukeNorway take it from here.

Well as of July 24th, the two month wait for the PC port of Prototype 2 is over, but does the game live up to expectations? Did Activision and Radical Entertainment manage to improve on the rather lackluster PC performance of the first Prototype...

And whatever happened to that super-powered guy in the hoody? Well, all shall be revealed my friend as I take an extensive video look at Prototype 2 PC; including the good, the bad, and the downright awful.

I'm not sure that I would say that Prototype has a great story... But I DEFINITELY thought it was very cool that they made the hero from the first game into the villain in Prototype 2! You don't see that very often in video games.

14 fps playable?i doubt..20-25 fps yes it is playable but not enjoyable.35-40 fps is highly playable but again not much enjoyable and 50-60 fps is enjoyable :)
why you dont stick with 1280x1024 and low settings?it will give you good fps

yes but those 6 fps will do the game barely playable..under 20 fps is not playable for me

yup..stick with low now and when you get better rig you will max it :) :D
BTW you still have a solid rig..it will handle a mid range gfx..if u are short of money you can get sth like 5670,6670,6750 or 6770 or gts 450.and if u upgrade to a better cpu,mobo and ddr3 ram you will keep your new gfx :D

For whoever up there said 20-25 fps isn't playable, I humbly beg to differ. I've had some difficulties with this game, namely being that at lowest or highest settings I get exactly the same FPS no matter what. With most settings maxed, and at 1280x1024 I get an average FPS of about 23-25. I've experienced slowdown less than 5 times total, and I'm 80% through the Red Zone. And even then, it was only while using Devastator in Lair situations, and once while using Bio-Bomb, also in a Lair.

hey hey hey...dont say different things from your mind plz..i said that 14 fps isnt playable..for me and for most of here i guess..i said 20-25 fps starts to be playable but not enjoyable..30-40 fps highly playable and 50-60 fps enjoyable..thats it

Yeah, it's REALLY bad. They didn't even make full use of the GPU and processor! I would see my FPS drop down to 24, then look over and see that my GPU was only at 60% usage and my CPU usage was even lower. It was like the game just couldn't use enough of the processor to bring the FPS up. Very weird.

lol Yeah, I haven't really played side-missions since San Andreas. :-)
I always feel that once I've finished the "main" missions, I could be playing some new game instead of working through side-missions on a game I've already finished. But the side missions in Prototype 2 are almost as fun as the regular missions, so I REALLY enjoyed all of them.

I haven't really played Skyrim. I just can't get into role-playing games. But hmm... Arkham City... Yeah I probably did do at least a few of the side missions in that one, but not many. I actually did ALL of them in San Andreas and Prototype 2.

@TaheRookie: Yeah, my taste in games always go toward the action-based stuff. For me, games are just a way to zone out and not have to think too much ;). I work as a programmer, so to me, games are an escape, and I don't want to have to solve puzzles or think too much during the gameplay :D
