According to CEO of Crytek, Cevat Yerli, Crysis 3 will utilize the full potential of high-end PC's. We already know Crytek is capable of doing this, as the original Crysis was used as a benchmark for gaming up until about 18 months ago.
Crysis had wonderful graphics for the time, however only a small group of people were able to play the game due to it's heavy requirements...
Yerli announced this at the Gamescom which is going on right now. He said the following:
"The fans have their expectations of the PC-version of Crysis 3 sky-high, so we promise the PC-hardware will be utilized to it's full potential. We don't want the PC version to be the vicitm of the console versions. We will do everything we can on the consoles so we can make sure the PC-version will be present."
Crytek has already shown us they are one of the best developers in the world with their previous games, and they claim to make the third one even intenser. Where the first game was a piece of art on the PC, the second part looked amazing on the consoles (and the same on the PC). If they deliver what they promise, Crysis 3 will be another piece of art Crytek is known for.
Crysis 3 is scheduled for release February 2013 on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, the PC version will follow later. The game is currently playable at Gamescom in the EA stand.
So will you upgrade your PC rig to play Crysis 3?
