Mirrors Edge and Bad Company - Too Good To Cancel

Mirror's Edge and Bad Company are "too good to cancel", according to Patrick Bach, executive producer of DICE.

Bach repeats what EA executives have said before him. He seems to especially like the first-person platformer 'Mirror's Edge' title and why shouldnt he? This title is still a pleasure to play and wonderfully innovative. He claims to have no information about the continuation of Bad Company, but he emphasizes "We never kill something that's great"...

The Bad Company line is probably temporarily put on hold so the heavy hitting 'Battlefield 4' can come out sooner, providing fast money into the, currently under pressure, EA.

Untill one of the titles gets anounced, Bach reports other projects are on the way, projects other than Battlefield 4. Which titles they are aiming at is a suprise.

Well, we know that it's not going to come next year, 2014, cuz that is scheduled for Battlefield 4. My guess is that it would hit screens on 2015. They haven't been vocal about it much but they have assured fans that the franchise hasn't been abandoned. We just gotto wait ;)

Well, I'm up for it if BF4 comes first, as long as they spend their time effectively on BC3, like Frostbite 2.5 Version, which is like 1.5V Destruction with 2.0V+ graphics. If it ever releases :P

i would've prefer bad company 3 than battlefield 4, because of singleplayer reason.

Mirror's Edge was like an under-developed good idea. It needs to have more to it than just six straight hours of parkour chasing. It was more like a tech demo than a full-fledged game. I'd be willing to give it a chance if they make a deeper sequel.
Bad Company needs to find a better hook and its own niche if EA expects it to continue with any success. CoD and BF (and to a lesser extent, MoH) rule this space right now, and Bad Company just doesn't set itself apart enough.

I'l have to disagree with you on the latter.
Bad Company ( a part of BATTLEFIELD franchise) is a big success. Having sold close to 13 million copies to date is a big achievement; clearly showing the crowd is interested in this iteration of BF. You heard the outcry when EA announced BF4 instead of a already deserving BF: BC3? Those are the same fans who made what BF3 is today. It's story, though outlandish, was much better than the 'heavy' story of BF3. Robust multiplayer only strengthened its foothold, and in my opinion, this would definitely sell better than MOH.
What Im trying to say is that Bad Company is different enough to do well both critically and financially, and it's ambience definitely sets it apart :)
