Travis Baldree, CEO of Runic, has recently announced the following: "The official Release Date for Torchlight II is Thursday, September 20th, 2012."

This means the game will be playable in three weeks...

Torchlight 2 is a Hack & Slash quite similar to Diablo 3. The major plus however is that you can play this game offline if you please to. The game is also open for mods, and surely will support them. The game has 4 classes; The Engineer, The Ember mage, The Outlander and The Berserker. They will all have different abilities of course, and from what has been shown the abilities look good.

The environment has been upgraded from Torchlight 1, and so has the scale. Zones now also take place outside as opposed to only inside. Torchlight 2 promises to be a big hit, and might even wash away the bad taste Diablo 3 left behind for most players.

Torchlight 2 is available to pre-order now on Steam at the budget price of $20 (about 15 euros). For more information check out the Torchlight 2 website.
