After months of rumours and exciting (mostly false) articles, BioWare finally officially announced their third game in the Dragon Age franchise

It's going to be called Dragon Age 3: Inquisition...

Dragon Age is an offline RPG in the Medieval Europe setting, with some fantasy factors added such as elves, magic, etc. The franchise became famous due to the dynamic story lines and the fitting enemies in that story. Fighting those enemies was also very fascinating. The game requires some strategy insight as well if you play it on the higher difficulties in order to defeat strong enemies.

Dragon Age 2 came out in 2010, and Bioware stated that the expected release date of Dragon Age 3 will be somewhere around the fall of 2013. BioWare also informed us that the game will run on the famous and gorgeous Frostbite 2 engine, which is also used in Battlefield 3 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Expect system requirements to be similar to those games. Bioware released no further information about the new title but we will keep snooping and let you know when we hear more.

Here are the details so far directly from Bioware

-------------

The next game will be called Dragon Age III: Inquisition. We won't be talking about the story of the game today. Though you can make some guesses from the title. This game is being made by a lot of the same team that has been working on Dragon Age since Dragon Age: Origins. It's composed of both experienced BioWare veterans and talented new developers. We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armor and followers… Yeah, that kind of customization. We've started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.

-------------

We know a number of people felt burnt by DA2 so are you excited about the next part in the Dragon Age series?

da1 was best by plot graphics and all but in combat da2 was better than da1...i dont like playing da1 more than 2 times..but iev played da2 may times and in da2 rouge is the best...and now dragon age 3 is more open world like skyrim..that makes it prereleased hit already.

Dragon Age: Origins is excellent, but I hate DA 2. Can't believe Bioware did such a poor job with that game. Hopefully they will make DA 3 like DA 1.

I hope it's more similar to 1 than 2 , I preferred the strategic view and the fact you explored the dragon age world rather than a big city like in 2 :)

Well I felt DA2 was a little too 3rd person for what I wanted. I love classic Baldurs Gate isometric style and hope the game can revisit that approach, but with Frostbite 2 being the engine involved I cant see them not getting over excited by the graphical features opened up to them...therefore I predict game mechanics will be similar to DA2 with the option of isometric bolted in. What do you guys reckon?

I agree, RPGs are meant to be played with a bit more 'strategic' view ;)

I don't like Isometric or top-down 'strategic' view. Which is why i'm having a hard time enjoying Diablo 3, Warcraft, Starcraft, etc. I prefer more like a Third Person, mass effect style with a great character storyline. Actually the Dragon age 1 and 2 is perfect camera view for me. It's nice that DA1 has an option to zoom out to strategic isometric view for those who prefer them. I never use them myself though. But that's just me :D

I agree with Tommy. Third person or first person gaming offers way more immersion for RPG games in my opinion.
The only top-down view game I like is Pokemon Blue on my gameboy :p
(If you need/want a strategic view, play strategy games, hehe :))
