Valve have advised that they will release a beta for their hardware at some point during next year.
It will not be a public beta and only a small amount of tester's will have access...
According to Valve they want gamers to enjoy their games better in their own living room. They haven't released about what hardware pieces it concerns, but following their statements it will most likely include a controller.
Valve has built a rep around delivering products only when they are ready, nothing will be rushed, nothing will be released until it's done. Valve already stated that they were unhappy about the current hardware development and have their own ideas to greatly improve it.
They also let us know that they are working on wearable gaming hardware, however this won't see the light of day for at least 2 - 3 years. They say they have a hand full of prototypes ready for the concerning hardware that will hit beta next year. They haven't said how tester's will be selected, but we can probably expect journalists and/or important gaming figures to get access. Valve will save the results and hopefully publish them to the public.
Do you have faith in hardware of Valve?
