The Gran Turismo games tend to have fairly long development times - up to five years in some cases - and no-one was expecting much different for Gran Turismo 7, set to release on PS4.
However Kazunori Yamauchi, the producer of Gran Turismo 6, said that we'll probably be seeing the next gen Gran Turismo game "in a year or two"...
Gran Turismo 7 Racing Towards Release On PS4
Gran Turismo 7 is not going to be a full new game by the sound of it, instead re-using many of the assets from Gran Turismo 6, which is launching in early December.
Yamauchi said that he wasn't as excited about this new generation's hardware, although it is an improvement:
“The PlayStation 4′s large memory size is a unique trait but in terms of CPU performance, the PS3′s Cell chip, while difficult to handle, is really capable. They both have different advantages. Besides, I think the online community aspect, one of the most fun parts of GT, doesn’t have anything to do with the platform.”
Gran Turismo will certainly do well on the Playstation 4 if it can make use of the hardware available. Would you rather have a faster port of GT6, or a full version of the game that takes years to make? Tell us below.
