Q: What are the minimum hardware recommendations for the Alpha Trial?
A: RECOMMENDED WINDOWS PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
OS: Windows 7 or Vista (SP1)
Installed: Origin
CPU: Quadcore @ 2.0 GHz or faster
RAM: 4GB or more
Hard Drive: 7.25 GB free disk space
Video: 256 MB or greater
DirectX 10 or 11 compatible card with latest drivers (AMD 11.5 or later, nVidia 275.33 or later)
Sound: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible card
Internet: broadband connection
Our comments - Bare in mind that the Alpha Trial will not be specifically stress testing systems to see how well they run the game. They are likely to put higher minimum system requirements down for the Alpha Trial so the Alpha testers are easily able to play the game with most of its features running without too much trouble from low frame rates. This way they can focus on gaming bugs and possible balancing issues.
The RAM and CPU requirements are as can be expected for a Battlefield 3 recommended system requirements but we are a little surprised that the Video Card Ram for BF3 is only 256MB or greater.
Still a few months to go though, so lets see where things are when we get closer to the release date.
