Square Enix got its E3 2018 conference with a fairly deep look at the upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider. An entire gameplay sequence was shown, demonstrating how Lara Croft has made quite the about turn from tree-hugging adventurer to absolute psycho. She’s a real dab hand at stabbing chaps now, ideally after she’s smothered herself in jungle mud and emerged from the gloom, Arnie style.
Unsurprisingly, Square Enix has announced that it’ll be partnering with Nvidia for the PC release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, a familiar refrain in regards to Square Enix’s more graphically intensive titles.
Right on cue, Square Enix has revealed an all-new trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, along with a whole heap of new info. Sadly, the trailer is entirely cinematics. Boo. Hiss. We've still got those screenshots to pore over, but sadly no in-game footage. This is all about setting up the narrative, which is pitted as the concluding part of the Tomb Raider origins trilogy.
The official site for Tomb Raider has gone dark, teasing a reveal that’s due to take place tomorrow, March 15th, at 6am PDT.
To the surprise of literally nobody, Square Enix has confirmed that development of a new Tomb Raider title is underway. Unlike previous games in the series though, Square Enix is taking a different tack with this one - there will be a very short window between the announcement of the new Tomb Raider game and its release. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was conspicuous by its absence from E3 2017 last week. We’ve all seen the leaks, and everything so far has pointed towards the game being real, however, Square Enix opted to keep it under wraps during the biggest week in gaming. Now though, Square Enix has sprung another leak, this time from US-based marketing firm Takeoff Creative.
The old classic of surreptitiously glancing at a commuter’s laptop looks to have spilled the beans on the next Tomb Raider game. A redditor by the name of Tripleh280 admitted to a spot of suburban spying, revealing the next game in the series will be called Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
