Red Dead Redemption is a western epic made by Rockstar San Diego that puts you in the shoes of John Marston,a former outlaw that now works for the government in the hopes of freeing his family.
- The game begins with you arriving in Armadillo, one of the games major settlements with the given task of eliminating an outlaw named Bill Williamson and as with all things in gaming the task won't be as simple as it first seems with things complicating along the way on your journey,I won't say anymore because this is a story that you need to experience yourself not hear about it from some guy on the internet.I will say this...This is one of the best stories I've ever seen in gaming since I first played my NES and what sets it apart is the character, you really feel like you're John Marston, you really embody his joys, his troubles, his life, and that is something you rarely see nowadays in gaming,to feel one with the character!!!
- As soon as the game begins you are overwhelmed by the game's huge world that feels more alive than in any other game made by Rockstar[I'm looking at you GTA]with sidequests given to you by strangers and random encounters ranging from someone getting their horse stolen to a lady being hogtied and getting carried away by an outlaw...You don't want to do these random encounters? Then you won't have to,the game doesn't take you by the hand and tells you what to do and what no to do,it's your choice if you want to help people in trouble or not, there's fame and fortune for you no matter which path you decide to take.If you're looking for alot of content in games then this is the game for you...the game is littered with activities, you can break horses,do nightwatch jobs, unlock costumes, hunting and collecting bounties either dead or alive[it's your choice],you have challenges that involve treasure hunting, hunting animals and collecting their pelts and meat and many more things to do.The game captures the Western feel perfectly together with the presentation which is top notch.
- The game's visuals are amazing to say the least,Rockstar captured the lighting and animation so perfectly that even sitting at the top of a canyon watching the view with all the wildlife is entertaining. The Soundtrack is one of the best I've heard and captures the feel of a western setting perfectly.I won't talk about the Multiplayer because I haven't had enough time with it so that won't factor in to the final score.
Botomline,if you want a game with amazing story, gameplay and presentation, all set in a western setting then you need to buy this game right now because you're missing on the Best Western Game ever created!!!
