One of the best strategies game ever, Warcraft 3 is the last game in this series (excluding World of Warcraft, which is a MMO). I’m not sure if a new game will come out, since it’s about 10 years since this game was released. I’m pretty disappointed, cause they keep releasing WoW stuff, but not making other Warcraft game. Ok, I understand that from the MMO they get more money, still, they could have made a new game. I guess, I’ll start:

Gameplay:

Well, what can I say. The maps are different sizes, from little to medium to big, with rivers, forests, mountains, etc. The whole game is based on: “collect resources, build army, destroy enemy”. The new thing added are the guardians (or the creeps) which guard a treasure and are not friendly. Another nice thing about this is that, at nigh Guardians fall asleep, which makes the player exploring much easier. Another thing added is Hero. A Hero is a special unit, the captain of your army, which has different special powers.

Storyline:

Well, the storyline is divided in 5 different campaigns: Humans of Lordaeron, the Undead Scourge, the Orcs (2 campaigns, one of them is the tutorial), and the Night Elves. I’ll explain them, by campaign:

In Human campaign, the prince of Lordaeron, Arthas joins forces with Jaina Proudmoore, an archmage, in order to investigate a strange plague which turns humans into undead. After that, he goes in an adventure to kill Kel'Thuzad and Mal'Ganis. Later, he kills his on father, King Terenas.

In Undead campaign, the Undead Death King, Arthas (no coincidence), is tested by dreadlords leader Tichondrius. He attacks Elves capital, kills his old close friend Uther. He opens a portal with Kel'Thuzad, where Archimonde and the Burning Legion are coming and they attack Dalaran.

In Orcs campaign (not including the tutorial), Thrall, Cairne Bloodhoof and the Tauren, battles with a human army on their way to Oracle. The Warsong Clan wants to build a permanent settlement but their resources are destroyed by Elfs. In order to kill Cenarius, leader of elfs, Grom drinks from a poisoned fountain, kills Cenarius, but ends in being corrupted by Mannoroth and the Legion.

In Night Elves campaign, Tyrande Whisperwind, leader of the elves, blames humans and orcs for the death of Cenarius, but he finds out that Burning Legion. She awakens Malfurion Stormrage and releases his brother from prison, Illidian Stormrage. Illidian, later, consumes the Skull of Gul'dan and becomes a demonic elf and kills Tichondrius. Well, this is the last part of this whole storyline, where Burning Legion are defeated and peace comes to Kalimdor.

Sound:

The music is written by Tracy Bush and Derek Duke. Funny is that if you click a unit, the unit will change is voice, from angry to happy, or making some jokes about movies or other games, some of them are about are Starcraft or Diablo. I think the must funny voice is Thrall’s voice, which sounds like an astonished orc.

Conclusion:

This game is awesome. I will review later Frozen Throne, but took me some time to write this, inform, play again the game. I don’t think this needs a continue, like Warcraft 4. This game needs to be played first of all for the storyline, then for it’s own gameplay and game modes. Nothing to say more, still, play the game. You’ll sure love it!
