Oooh boy. Sims 3: Town Life Stuff is definitely the worst stuff pack so far. It's expensive, it contains very few content and it actually adds what "we" don't want: rabbit holes. Who would buy it? Probably a fan that wants a complete collection or someone that thinks it might support EA developing the most wanted - Sims 3: Pets, or maybe just someone wanting to kill 20 bucks. (or maybe just me..)
In case you are wondering, that was my introduction. Sims 3: Town Life Stuff delivers what was promised - that is indeed correct but what it delivers is so bad, so uninteresting that when you install it you won't even notice it's there. The only noticeable thing after buying this stuff pack is the hole on your wallet - it just got 20 bucks lighter.
The game is so ill-fated and so excruciatingly bad that when I previewed it last week or so (check my preview here) I had already the worst expectations possible but EA still managed to disappoint me. Why? On the chat with one of the game's producers, they showed what they defined as "some of the content" but now I see they showed all the content. Sims 3: Town Life not only is the game that adds the most uninteresting content, it's also the one with less content so far.... 12 items tops.
The stuff pack comes with only ONE new design for each type of community building and the most frustrating aspect is that rabbit holes (places you can't see/interact inside, your Sim only goes into it and boom, disappears) are so beautiful designed that it makes you wonder «Why the hell can't I get into them?» and it leaves you with a hunger of what The Sims 2 offered in terms of community buildings.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy this game. It's really, really bad and useless. It doesn't even offer a new town with the buildings placed - you have to place them yourself and EA please, we do not want more rabbit holes - we want to get able to fully interact with community buildings like we used to at The Sims 2, hell, even at The Sims.
With useless, uninteresting, repetitive content, content that doesn't really change anything about the game, specially the new buildings like the library and the laundry, insanely high price (who's idea was it anyway?) I consider Sims 3: Town Life Stuff to be abysmal.
Reflection Notes: Whatever is happening to the «people» behind The Sims 3 series? The Last, I mean, except for Sims 3: World Adventures and Sims 3: Ambitions, all the other stuff/expansion packs have been «disasterific».
