Standing at your ship’s wheel and gazing out to sea, taking in the gently undulating ocean and the dozens of distant islands on the horizon, Black Flag’s world is truly a joy to behold, and it’s even more fun to strut your stuff in. With dozens of different activities from treasure hunting to assassinations and even shark-hunting, Assassin’s Creed IV has got it all for the would be adventurer.

Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag
If you had to pick one aspect of a game that most contributed to atmosphere, setting would surely be up there. And what setting could be more characterful and fantastic than an 18th Century pirate colony? Beautiful to look at, Assassin’s Creed IV proves a worthy contribution to a franchise known for its faithful delivery of majestic environments.

Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag
Epic is an often overused term but it’s not worth fumbling around for a dictionary when you’ve stumbled upon such an apt word in the first place. Set during the criminally underused golden era of pirates, Black Flag has you playing as Haytham Kenway’s father Edward Kenway. Anything that involves swashbuckling and adventure sounds like a fitting start to a sizzling story and the teams at Ubisoft’s 18,000 development studios that contributed to this haven’t let us down. One of the key appeals of the Assassin’s Creed series has been its overarching Abstergo plot and totally unique settings, helping this one to stand apart from the crowd.
