Best Co-op

As a wise man once said, two heads are better than one, and that’s never been more appropriate than in the world of co-operative gaming. Whether you’re saving the planet or just having a race, getting another player involved is always instantly more fun. Co-op gaming has a strong place in many gamers’ hearts and as online gaming becomes easier, this Award category helps us find the gems that let us play and share our gaming experiences with our friends.

Borderlands: The Pre-sequel
The Borderlands series has long been a stalwart for fans of co-operative play, and this time around is no different. Lunar antics took this pseudo-sequel to new heights, with riotous low-gravity and Mario-esque buttstomping escalating everything in typical Borderlands fashion. Outstanding co-operative play and an engaging and entertaining story give this series spin-off the green light from us.

Dead Rising 3
There’s only one thing better than welding a motorbike to a steamroller and squishing several hundred zombies, and that’s doing it with a mate. Dead Rising 3’s entire single-player campaign can be played in drop-in, drop-out co-op, causing double the carnage and double the fun. It’s a blood-spattered, chaotic, unpredictable mess, and we can’t get enough of wreaking havoc in Los Perdidos.

Divinity 2: Original Sin
Multiplayer components in RPGs are a risky endeavour. When they go wrong, they can go very, very wrong. Thankfully, like much of the rest of this RPG, Larian nailed the co-op play in Divinity, meaning that playing through with a friend can be entirely as rewarding as a solo mission.
