Grand Theft Auto V
It’s taken an absolute age but Grand Theft Auto V is finally making its way to PC this January. By now 40 million people are already sick of the sight of it but the PC gaming community is waiting with baited breath for the rebirth of a bona-fide open-world great. The addition of mod support and next level visuals will ensure that the PC is the place to visit Los Santos come 2015.

The Witcher III
An over-hyped game is always at risk of being a let-down, but CD Projekt RED is yet to disappoint us and, from what we’ve seen, The Witcher 3 doesn’t look like the place to start. Huge, beautiful landscapes mark our return to Geralt of Rivia’s story next February, and we can’t wait.

The Division
It’s getting to that stage now where it seems difficult for Ubisoft to live up to the years of hype The Division has had. Precious little is actually known about how this will even play at all, but what we have seen so far suggests an ambitious rethinking of RPG gameplay set against the imposing backdrop of a battered New York.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
MGS V: Ground Zeroes was painfully short but incredibly sweet, and served to ratchet up the hype for Hideo Kojima’s latest to new levels. Snake’s outings have a habit of being disgustingly amazing every single time, so consider us hyped for this time. In a first for the series Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will feature a fully open-world, allowing the player to approach mission objectives however they see fit.

Elite: Dangerous
Arriving during the very same fortnight that these awards are taking place, Elite Dangerous is 2014’s swansong and it would be remiss of us to overlook the return of a gaming great, whose persistent universe is sure to provide some of the greatest gaming moments of 2015. Few games are as ambitious as Elite: Dangerous, which looks to meld massively multiplayer components with a huge branching narrative directly affected by the actions of the pilots with its vast open-world.
