Game of the Year 2017
Middle-earth: Shadow of War
There’s an argument that can be leveled at Middle-Earth: Shadow of War that it’s too formulaic, as if Monolith had a bubbling broth that was equal parts Batman and Assassin’s Creed, yet Shadow of War proved itself to be greater than the sum of its parts. In an age of Souls games that revel in making the player feel impotent, Shadow of War is the polar opposite. Talion has an arsenal of weaponry at his disposal, both real and corporeal, all fused together with a Nemesis System that really goes above and beyond what now seems like a paltry offering in Shadow of Mordor.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War
You’re free to play Shadow of War how you want, but its predator skill tree is where it’s at for those who love to stick to the shadows.
