NEED SERIOUS HELP!
Written by: TheGamingKing - 20:51 Apr-04-2014

Guys i got into serious Problem:

i'd bought a fake Xbox360 gaming receiver by mistake. A genuine wireless adapter will have “Microsoft” written on the top of the adapter itself. These knock-offs (at least mine). The problem here that i can't return or exchange it.

NOW THE REAL DEAL:

Driver for Xbox 360 Wireless Controller on Windows 7(64) not appearing in device manager after installation.

nor is there anything in the "Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories" folder in the start menu.

After installing "Xbox 360 Accessories Software 1.2 64-bit for Windows 7", the reboot takes approx. 5 minutes which is unusually long.

I went to Device manager to update the driver and the only thing that pops up in the category of 'Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class' is a driver from 2006 (XBOX 360 Controller For Windows) that does not work. The newer (previously installed) drivers are not there. What am I missing here?

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Here is the screen that explains much: http://i.imgur.com/0mY0Vg4.jpg

Must reply guys plzz, i realy need to fix that...:(

I would say that you can go back to the shop and ask for the software driver if they have....
Or you can try changing the wire, sometimes its the culprit....
Either of these two solution will fix your prob...

Bro As a Pakistani I would advice you to take the controller back to the store But as you can't do that So I would suggest that you take it to your a friend that has a Xbox 360 and check whether it is working there. If it is working then it has to be a software problem and if it is not then It would be hardware problem which is totally something else and I don't think there is a solution for that. I hope this helps :)

So its basically not detecting the adapter hence the controller could be a problem with the adapter as you its a knock-off..Contact any friend if they have a adapter of the sort and try it out might work another solution could be getting one of those data USB cable(that PASS DATA NOT only power)and connect it with that btw whats the price of controller and adapter?

What I would suggest is: ( cause I have an Xbox Wireless Controller)

  1. First of all, is the controller working? Can you play any game with it?
2.Try to uninstall those drivers you installed and go to the Microsoft Website and get the latest ones ( should be 2009).

  2. Make sure you install the drivers when the adapter is plugged in too, maybe that's where the mistake happened.
Tell me what you tried, maybe I can help you further.

Then I guess you should buy a new original receiver and uninstall the previous drivers. I don't think there's anything else that can be done here :/
