Written by: xrtc7870 - 17:03 May-05-2014

could you please guys suggest me a gpu (NOT EXPENSIVE LIKE 780ti) which can replace my reliable 7870???

my current specs are

cpu:AMD FX8350

gpu: Sapphire HD7870 Dual-X

SSD: 256gb A-Data

HDD: 1TB

RAM: 16gb

MONITOR: 23in 1080p

FOR FURTHER INFO SEE MY PAGE!!!!

BY THE WAY CAN MY CPU LIFT THE BEST GPU AVAILABLE LIKE 780ti 290x or 7990 or there will be a bottleneck??

THANK YOU VERY MUCH BUDDIES :P

I have an FX8320 OC'd to 4.6Ghz with an R9 290X and I have never once experienced a bottleneck. Your 8350 should have no issues running any of those GPUs

Almost same rig :-D
btw I have not overclocked anything, yet 290X is still working without problem
From start I undervolted it from original 1,35V on 1,28V

you don't need to upgrade yet. Wait until next gen save as much money as possilbe and buy a r9 380x or gtx 870 :)

If you have it there is not really any need to buy better card for 1080p res

bro you don't need to run crysis 3 on max, you can run it on very high withough any anti-aliasing, becasue the game is really well anti-aliased and at 1080p anti-aliasing becomes pretty much useless, because the difference with it being on or off is so little that some poeple can't even see it and it's not worth it at all.

I'm not sure what you're saying? That a FX8350 will bottleneck a 780?

the fx 8350 shouldn't bottleneck any gpu in any game, except arma II, starcraft II, diablo 3 and all these games that don't utilize graphics cards as much as cpus and where it doesn't matter if you have amd or intel the cpus are going to bottleneck, but in all other games it will not bottleneck at all. Just saying if intel doesn't bottleneck then amd doesn't bottleneck if amd bottlenecks the intel bottlenencks as well and vice versa :)

nvm the point is that if amd bottlenecks so does intel and vice versa and if intel doesn't bottleneck neither does amd and vice versa and keep in mind that I mean same tiers cpus like fx 8xxx,6xxx and 4xxx and intel i5 and i7. and not i3s and athlons and apus(the L3 cache gives amd much better performance, especially physics and rendering performance, and the i3 struggles with games that use over 2 cores so an amd fx 4 core will be much better then)

Your CPU won't bottleneck those GPU's you mentioned. BTW, your current GPU is fine for playing even new games on high settings. If it's Ultra settings you're after then yes, upgrade. The Radeon 290 is an excellent card at a good price and should give you a significant performance increase coupled with the 8350 :)

that is what i was thinking about! but is it futureproof ? ? ? for example 3-4 years?

Definitely. Although, with the ridiculous requirements developers impose on us nowadays, I'm not sure how "futureproof" anything is anymore. Anyway, all my personal conflictions aside, I'm sure the 290 will serve you well for a few years :) There is always the possibility of Cross-Fire later on ;)
