Microsoft Windows 9-What to expect ?
Written by: EldinSC - 16:43 Jul-29-2014

Windows 9 is expected to debut in early 2015, but Microsoft is obviously keeping everything secret, so no confirmed details about what’s to come in the next Windows operating system are available right now.

On the other hand, people familiar with the matter revealed that Windows 9 could come with lots of new features, including a modern Start menu that would more or less mix the classic design we saw in Windows 7 with Windows 8’s Start screen.

The concept  you’re seeing here is based on a completely new approach that turns the Start screen into a full-featured Start menu by reducing its size and making live tiles a bit more helpful right on the desktop.

Microsoft already presented a mockup of the upcoming Start menu at the BUILD 2014 developer conference in April, but since then the company hasn’t talked at all about the feature that’s set to return in a future Windows update.

This mockup also presented a mixed design with live tiles and classic design elements, including power options that could make it easier to reboot or shut down a computer.

Leave your opinion about what do you expect, and what would you like to see in new Windows OS.

I use Windows 8.1 but use the "StartIsBack" program. Now Windows 8 looks and feels just like Windows 7!

I was able to get Windows 8 at a steal. 14 bucks. Through my college program. ;) I was as thrifty as I could possibly be when making this rig of mine.

There are a few features in 8/8.1 that I'd like to see patched in to 7,The start up in one place instead of running in 2 places. The nifty file transfer graph, The thing is 8/8.1 is overly complex for no fuctional reason(desktop). I do like the intagradablity of the 8 platform, and I like the metro Start GUI in Win 9 screen shot 1. slide out kinda 3D over the desktop. compatiblity and versitilty

Nicely done, I'm looking forward to Windows 9. With Windows 8 and 8.1, my opinion, the start screen was less fuctional on the desktop platform, however invaluable on the mobile tablet. Windows 8/8.1 kinda annoyed me with the app vs. application execution. An example when in the desktop app and opening Internet Explorer it opens IE 11, where as opening from the start it opens the app IE.

Then attach the desktop application to Start and remove the app tile. Or just make a desktop shortcut and set your startup settings to start on desktop, and not Start.

Yes there are ways to work around it, the fact that it was made to function that way is what gets me. As I say, my opinion, overly complex for no fuctional reason, like a Rube Goldberg machine, that said the UI is of personal preference. In the face of a changing market Microsoft had to rush to meet the mobile demands. I like 8.1 on my tablet, the App system work wonderfully, desktop not so much.

I hope Win9 will finally have proper 3rd gen Filesystem(ReFS'), NTFS is outdated and more trouble than it's worth it

XP is old and outdated. My eyes hurt when I see it, it wouldn't make sense to bring it back with new DX...
