AMD dishesh 32GB GPU S9170
Written by: bloodman92 - 22:48 Jul-10-2015

On 8th of july AMD announced on their official website the creating of the server grade GPU AMD FirePro S9170 32 GB.This gpu is one of a kind and the fastest single gpu you can get as of now since there are no other with that amount of memory. It is suitable for heavy computations supporting AMD's DGEMM heavy double-precision workloads and OpenCL 2.0 based n CGN.And its scheduled for release in Q3 2015.
Important feautures include:

32GB GDDR5

5.24 TFLOPS of single precision

2.62 TFLOPS of double precision

Support for 40% better double precision performance, while using 10% less power than the competition

There is no information on pricing and the power consumption is 275w which suggests it can be very power hungry under heavy load, that’s just a speculation though and price is TBD.

Not sure about gaming but are you excited of the existence of such card and can it be used in gaming too? Are you willing to pay the price needed to give it a 4K try? Please comment I'm interested in hearing your non-expert or expert comments! Do you think it can challenge Titan X and 980Ti in gaming? Do you think that this is a desperate move from AMD to have at least one crown for being the first GPU sporting the massive 32GB of GDDR5 memory destroying all other cards and turning into the fastest single gpu on planet.

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment.

I'd rather use the GTX 980 in a 3-way SLI.
About the same price as a TitanZ, but has more power.

Correct me if I wrong but I thought game servers didn't need a graphics card. Only a really powerful CPU and lots (and lots) of RAM.

that's for game developers, those guys who use Unreal Engine 3,5 or FrostByte 3, or CryEngine 3

This is not a gaming GPU, though if I were to need it for work, the hell yes.

This card is meant for rendering(creating) rather than playing games. I would love to look at its spec compared to other GPUs in its class.

Meaning its overall performance is better than aby other currebt single GPU? Even Nvidia's Quadro GPU's ? Wow, pretty impressive

It's not a gaming GPU,so i would much rather have a gaming gpu with the same performace and lower price. But as a workstation GPU,this thing is going to be awesome.

With GDDR5? Omg this is insane for servers.

It's a top of the line server gpu so you could expect a retail price of about $5000+. Game performance will be terrible because it's not designed for that, it's designed for heavy number crunching in supercomputers.
