Hello gamers,

I guess we all noticed the new design of the website and I am sure that most of you like it. But.... I honestly think it's pretty "ugly"... Now now, don't hate me on saying this, no need for hate when someone expresses his opinion. Why don't we all continue reading this and see toghether what I mean by "ugly". Shall we?

Well, as web programmer myself, I know some useful stuff regarding designing a website and I would like to share my knowledge, opinion with the owners of the best website concerning gaming. Let me start with the home page:

HOMEPAGE

The home page is the most important page of the website since it's the page that can make a user leave or stay and continue viewing the website and sometimes make him come back! The home page must look flawless and needs to be friendly and easy to read. On this website the homepage is full of blocks containing useful information and with no space between them, Here let me show you:

As we can see it has a lot of useful information but it's just so compact and so much less space between the blocks that it's just suffocating...

If a new user reaches the website by mistake and just scrolls a bit he will most likely leave. We need to something to get the users attention, if there is too much on the website the user won't even bother reading since it's overwhelming and will most likely leave. When I first entered the website today I just didn't understand what is on this page so I had to spent a few minutes analyzing it and see what am I looking at.

There needs to be more space, lack of space means constraining, nobody likes constrains. Maybe add a few more spaces between blocks, don't put 3 big blocks on the page, maybe two are enough since 3 is throwing too much info at the user. Don't put too much info next to each other. Also the colors, colors should respect the main theme(which it does) but should also separate things and highlight useful stuff. Since all blocks are almost the same color( or same color) there is no delimitation between them. At first look it just gives the impression of a pile of random stuff thrown there. Maybe just change the colors a bit so that we can see the space, differentiate the blocks. Combine this with more space and you have a good looking website.

In the first picture we can see that on my laptop screen those blocks are reaching the edges of my screen and that is not a really good idea to have things that big on a website. Blocks should never reach the end in my opinion since it gives the sensation of closed, suffocating space. Make them a little bit smaller.

Indeed it looks better on bigger screens ( I am viewing from my small laptop) but even on a bigger screen it still needs some improvement regarding delimitation and highlighting.

I think the home page is enough for this article, please let me know if my feedback was useful and really sorry for my horrible English. If you would like me to continue analyzing the website or provide better alternatives please let me know :D

I made a proposal for modifying the front page. I'm curious to see what you think of it as it keeps the overall aesthetic but tries to improve functionality. :)

Indeed it's a bit wide and not only that but there is too much info concentrated in one place.
