Intel i7 -8700K Hosting Dedicated Server While Playing Ark
Written by: PCEGamer - 16:05 Jun-13-2018

Solo, it played rather well, however, I want to see if its possible to play and host with multiple people. I'm gathering about 6-10 people, but first I need to figure out how to get them to join the server since it's filtered LAN. Anyone interested or knows how? Please let me know below!

If you needed more raw core counts, a dual socket server board with older Xeons would have been effective

As for being able to allow players outside of your LAN, this guide will tell you which ports need to be open both on your router, and in Windows.

I run an ark server that frequently has 6 people playing on a core2quad Q8300, and that runs far smoother than any official server, so it doesn't surprise me at all that the 8700K can host and play ARK…… the server is really not very demanding at all.

hmm I wonder if my 4.3GHz OCed i7-5820K is 4% better as GD shows or if that's within a margin of error :)
