This year so far has had 2 very demanding games so far that have been released and hopefully more to come. With the excited release of Crysis 3 a lot of people felt their was need to once again have a ultra powerful pc and that it would be pushed to its limits. Another game just recently released has been Tomb Raider. This game looked amazing and included a little feature known as TressFX that on first release was so taxing on Nvidia cards it was not playable.
After some game patches and graphics drivers these 2 games have been made quite playable on a multitude of systems and allowed for a greater visual experience while still keeping a playable fps. From reading the forums it has been seen that some people with certain setups are quite able to play these games on a high settings while still being playable for them. But once I see the fps some people are playing it i'm wondering what is a playable fps for people.
For me anything under 40 is unplayable as I see the game as laggy and it seems to skip. While I know that not everyone has the same idea of playable fps I would like to get a general sampling and maybe a reason why. Now I know that this question can change depending on what game is being played from an fps to a point and click adventure game. This would just be a gernal rule of thumb.
