Which type of games do you like more to play?
FPS? or TPS?
For me it's Third Person Shooter.
According to Wikipedia
The approximate field of view of an individual human eye is 95° away from the nose, 75° downward, 60° toward the nose, and 60° upward, allowing humans to have an almost 180-degree forward-facing horizontal field of view.
But while plying a FPS game our distance from display is nearly 15 inches hence FOV is not even near 60° for horizontal field. That's why it feels awkward (if we think ourself as main character) as if my eyes are blocked to look more than 60° through a helmet like thing. And I can't just move my eyes left or right even for 1° to look my mate to do so totally turn your character whole face towards them.
On the other side TPS
1. Let you enjoy the protagonist.
(personally if it is a preety lady with additional sex appeal then more entartainment )
2. Let you enjoy a new character, a new way of living. ( including their way of wearing clothes exceptional saint row like games )
3. More Action to see, like superpowers and awesome combat.
We can play 90% of FPS as TPS (e.g- Call Of Duty ,just give us an army soldier and convert the camera view from FPS to TPS and everything will be smooth as it was or maybe better ) but 90% of TPS can't be played as FPS (e.g- Batman Series, Tomb Raider these cames become impossible if the FOV is restricted to 60°)
But still there are some games which are good because they are FPS like horror games. Less the field of view more you get frighten .
Note: Everything I wrote are my personal views only.
So what are your views about FPS and TPS and please vote so that we get to know which side the majority is?
