Sharkoon REX MWC - Water Cooling Edition Review

Radiator mounting made easy
With the REX MWC - Water Cooling Edition we present an absolutely new case concept, which allows the installation of micro ATX mainboards in the case as well as radiators. Externally, the MIDI tower case differs only slightly from the famous REX series; however, it is completely revised and adapted to the needs of users who want to mount a radiator within the space-saving case.

Preconfigured for water cooling
Through the arrangement of the mainboard the REX MWC offers additional mounting space for 120 mm or 240 mm radiators.
For the alternative installation of an air cooler, nothing will stand in the way of installing a tower cooler with a maximum height of up to 165 mm thanks to its width of 205 mm. Through the provided side panels the case offers a variety of possibilities for the inconspicuous cabling of all components.
A tinted acrylic side window provides insight into the interior of the case and the installed components.

Double the graphics power
Graphics cards with a maximum length of up to 40 cm can be easily installed. The REX MWC, unlike traditional mATX cases, features five slots for expansion cards. Thus, for maximum graphics acceleration, up to two dual-slot graphics cards can be used.

Fan configuration
The front panel is made completely out of mesh for perfect air circulation. Behind the panel are two 120 mm low-noise blue LED fans. Preinstalled on the back of the case is an additional 120 mm LED fan.

Front ports
The REX MWC offers a total of six USB ports on the front panel, two USB 3.0 ports on the top and four USB 2.0 ports on the front. Headsets and speakers can also be easily connected through the two front audio ports.

Installation options for drives
The case features two 5.25” drive bays for the screwless installation of optical drives. For the installation of card readers or other devices in a 3.5” format, a corresponding aperture including mounting frame is enclosed. Up to three 3.5” hard drives or 2.5” hard drives/SSDs can be easily installed in the HDD rack-mounted system.
