In terms of overall gaming performance, the AMD Ryzen R3 1200 is massively better than the AMD Opteron 8384 when it comes to running the latest games. This also means it will be less likely to bottleneck more powerful GPUs, allowing them to achieve more of their gaming performance potential.

Mini ReviewThe Ryzen R3 1200 is an entry-level CPU based on AMD's 14nm, Zen microarchitecture. It offers 4 physical cores (4 logical), initially clocked at 3.1GHz, which may go up to 3.4GHz using XFR Turbo Boost. It has an unlocked multiplier therefore it can be overclocked using traditional methods. It has 8MB of L3 Cache. Level 3 cache is a static memory bank of a processor and it is used to feed it instructions. This processor also supports DDR4 based RAMs with maximum memory support of 64GB. It has a maximum Thermal Power Design of 65W. It is on par with competitor processors. Among its many features, Simultaneous Multithreading, Cool n Quiet, CoolCore Technology, Extended Frequency Range (XFX), Pure Power and Precision Boost are enabled. It doesn't feature an integrated GPU. This CPU is likely to offer excellent computational performance and will not be the bottleneck in any modern gaming PC.Opteron is AMD's x86 server and workstation processor line, and was the first processor which supported the AMD64 instruction set architecture (known generically as x86-64). It was released on April 22, 2003 with the SledgeHammer core (K8) and was intended to compete in the server and workstation markets, particularly in the same segment as the Intel Xeon processor.
