Choosing the graphics card needs to be done correctly and as we are putting together a gamer PC build for Witchfire at 1440p ultra graphics we want something with the best price today while returning the best performance for that price. This has led us to the Radeon RX 580 XFX GTR XXX 8GB, which has a good price at the moment, as its currently priced at $164.99. Checking our records our lowest tracked price for this card was on 28th Dec 2019, which had it priced at $159. Selecting The Right Witchfire 1440p Motherboard and CPU

To fit with the above graphics card we have chosen a well priced motherboard, the ASRock Intel B365 ATX LGA1151, that will allow us to slot in a compatible Core i5-9400F 6-Core 2.9GHz processor based around the shared LGA 1151 socket. With the chosen cpu and gpu working together we will get a great Witchfire experience, that helps achieve steady frames at this resolution. The chosen cpu has itself been selected because it represents a good fit with the game and the price we found it at when comparing today’s cpu market prices, finding it currently priced at $167.87. A low end price for this CPU would be $119.99, which we saw it priced at on 16th Mar 2020.

Today the ASRock Intel B365 ATX LGA1151 competitively costs $72.99, which provides it a place in our build today. To help give some depth to the price points for this motherboard, the ASRock Intel B365 ATX LGA1151 was priced at $59.99 on 4th Apr 2020.

How To Choose The Best RAM For Witchfire At The Right Price

One of the most important hardware parts of this computer is the system memory or RAM. To make sure our resolution target and frame rates are met we have chosen to put in Patriot Viper Steel Series 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz. This is currently priced at $42.99 and is well priced compared to the system memory market today. A price point for this RAM was down to $30.35 on 29th Nov 2019.

PC Performance Review at 1440p Ultra Settings on Witchfire

A PC build like this can expect to get an average of 68 FPS on High settings in Witchfire at 1440p. There may be some lower frame rates in some parts of the game, but we have chosen the components to get some solid frame rates. Increasing the quality in the game to Ultra, will see us still getting an FPS of 48.

Having the option of larger screen resolutions in the future is a handy thing to consider. This gaming PC setup, running Witchfire at 4k would be pulling in about 40 FPS at High. We would expect that to drop again to 29 if you were playing it at 4k Ultra.

How this build performs for other popular games

It’s worth taking into consideration how our Witchfire PC build handles other games. We’ll do this by looking at the current popular titles Battlefield 2042, Back 4 Blood and Star Citizen.
