Choosing A Graphics Card For Our 1080p Squadron 42 PC Build

Lets not pay over the odds when we put this game’s graphics card in. We want something that can play Squadron 42 at 1080p ultra graphics options and we want something that has a reasonable price compared to the other graphics options. The Radeon RX 580 XFX GTR XXX 8GB has been looking like a good stand in for this games curated PC build, based on the price of $164.99 that we found it marked at today. It will certainly help return suitable FPS, which we will go into a bit later in the article, at ultra 1080p. For reference, our lowest tracked price for this graphics card was on 28th Dec 2019 and it was priced at $159. We have seen this card drop its price recently by $14.01 which is part of the reason it has been slotted in to this build.

We also want the graphics card to have at least 4GB VRAM onboard. The video card in this build has 8 which will act as a good data buffer between the processor and the graphics hardware.

Selecting The Right Squadron 42 1080p Motherboard and CPU

Finding a well priced motherboard, like the one we are putting in our build today really helps tie things together in terms of performance and opens up other hardware options that become available to us later in the selection. The ASRock Intel B365 ATX LGA1151 motherboard is at a great price point and lets us select our desired LGA 1151 cpu. As the Radeon RX 580 XFX GTR XXX 8GB wants a suitable good pairing when looking to run Squadron 42 well at this resolution. The Core i7-9700F 8-Core 3.0GHz is currently priced at a competitive $264. A low end price for this CPU would be $209.99, which we saw it priced at on 2nd Dec 2020.

With a price tag today of $72.99, the ASRock Intel B365 ATX LGA1151 motherboard is certainly in good company, representing a feature rich, cost effective mobo for the Squadron 42 PC. To provide a motherboard pricing benchmark the lowest recorded price we have for the ASRock Intel B365 ATX LGA1151 is $59.99 on 4th Apr 2020.

How To Choose The Best RAM For Squadron 42 At The Right Price

System Memory is a significant part of any gaming computer. The build today finds the Patriot Viper Steel Series 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz to be the best price to performance RAM solution for our Squadron 42 PC. At last reckoning we priced it up at $42.99, which is a cheap price for this amount of RAM. There are of course other options and configurations of system memory you might like to consider in your build. We looked through our records and saw that the RAM prices on 29th Nov 2019, represented a low price point $30.35. Which gives us an indication of how things sit today with the RAM price
