We want a punchy GPU for this build and the Radeon RX 580 XFX GTR XXX 8GB is currently priced at a competitive $164.99. Out of interest our lowest price tracked on this graphics card was on 28th Dec 2019 where we saw it for $159.. The game also needs this graphics solution to deliver at least 4 GB VRAM to act as a buffer between the PC build’s video card and the processor.
We have selected a MSI B360M PRO-VD Intel mATX LAG1151 motherboard to allow us to then go on and add a great cpu for this Apex Legends build. With a LGA 1151 socket type motherboard we choose the well priced Core i3-9350K 4-Core 4.0GHz, which is at the best price to performance for processors in this range at the moment. With this current build we expect to see a return of 64 frames per second at ultra 1080p resolution in Apex Legends. Adjust some of the graphics options and you could boost this up to 89 FPS for High graphics settings.
We expect Apex Legends would also run in higher screen resolutions but this would be 48 FPS average, at 1440p Ultra. We would see an improvement of frame rates if we tweaked the 1440p graphics options to be around the High preset graphics option, which would then return 68 FPS.
To ensure we are making a good choice with this Apex Legends PC build we can check to see if it performs consistently across a variety of games. Some of the most popular games today include Resident Evil 8, Star Citizen and Far Cry 6 so let’s see how this build handles them at 1080p.
