Choosing A Graphics Card For Our 1080p Mafia: Definitive Edition PC Build

Obviously one of the most important components for this build is the graphics card. We can take a look at the best price to performance hardware right now to help deliver a system that can run Mafia: Definitive Edition at 1080p ultra settings. Looking through today’s graphics card prices we can see that the GeForce RTX 2080 Super Zotac Twin Fan 8GB is today’s best GPU option for this computer and it will work great at this screen resolution. Its price right now is $689.99, and running our hardware tests against that price shows this to be the cheapest but best performer for Mafia: Definitive Edition. Watching this card over the past 2 weeks we have seen its price drop by $40, further supporting our selection in this hardware. Out of interest our lowest price tracked on this graphics card was on 29th Feb 2020 where we saw it for $679.99.

This build will need to have at least 4GB of VRAM onboard the graphics card, to act as an image data store between the GPU and CPU. Our selected builds graphics card has 8GB, which is plenty for getting suitable gaming at this resolution.

Selecting The Right Mafia: Definitive Edition 1080p Motherboard and CPU

To accompany the graphics option we have put a compatible motherboard into the build. The MSI B360M PRO-VD Intel mATX LAG1151 motherboard in turn enables us to add the Core i5-9400F 6-Core 2.9GHz processor that has the LGA 1151 socket. This CPU is a great fit for Mafia: Definitive Edition and balances nicely with the GeForce RTX 2080 Super Zotac Twin Fan 8GB, to help reach the right frame rates at this resolution. We have of course chosen this CPU today because of its price to performance credentials where it is currently priced at $142.83. You can get this processor for $119.99, which we saw it at that price on 16th Mar 2020. This is the lowest we have seen it at while watching processor prices.

With the feature rich MSI B360M PRO-VD Intel mATX LAG1151 priced competitively at $49.46 it is certainly in todays Mafia: Definitive Edition build for a good reason. Our motherboard price records put this mobo’s price on 28th Dec 2019 at $32.99.
