Prices and hardware reviewed and updated: 17th Aug 2021

Our objective here is to enable us to explore what PC we could buy that can play Pacer, where we carefully find the right hardware components that can run Pacer and meet its gaming needs while also heavily factoring in today’s best hardware component prices. With the mission objective being a high gaming standard at the highest graphics settings, using 1080p monitor resolution. As new gaming components are released for PC we will continue to review prices here each day and consider swapping in and out better components.

First off, to help us pull together the best hardware for this build, we have to understand a little bit about the type of game we are creating this computer for. Pacer is a title which sits in the , Arcade, Racing genre categories, which may influence our peripheral selection a bit, to help accommodate some of the particular requirements there. This game would have also been built on PC hardware during 2020 and before, which can suggest the sort of specced components a developer might have been using and hoping for their game to run on. Today we find it is 1 on our most demanding games list and 1 in our list of popular games. While this extra info gives a good sense of what we want from our PC, nothing really replaces our value for money assessment based on live prices, when putting together this build.

Choosing A Graphics Card For Our 1080p Pacer PC Build

Getting the right graphics card is a good way to start any game PC build. So lets take a look for the best price to performance gpu hardware available right now, that isnt overpowered for this game but will still run Pacer at 1080p ultra settings. Today’s prices for graphics cards lead us to the Radeon RX 580 XFX GTR XXX 8GB as the smartest GPU option for this computer and one that will deliver some good frame rates at this gaming resolution at ultra. We have seen this card drop its price recently by $14.01 which is part of the reason it has been slotted in to this build. Checking our records our lowest tracked price for this card was on 28th Dec 2019 which had it priced at $159. Todays price of $164.99 is certainly a good price for this hardware, considering the performance returns are a good match for this game.

Our graphics card will need 4GB of VRAM built into it to act as a suitable buffer between our video card and chosen CPU. This graphics card has 8GB which will be plenty for this game at this resolution.

Selecting The Right Pacer 1080p Motherboard and CPU

We have selected a ASRock Intel B365 ATX LGA1151 motherboard to allow us to then go on and add a great cpu for this Pacer build. With a LGA 1151 socket type motherboard we choose the well priced Core i3-9350K 4-Core 4.0GHz, which is at the best price to performance for processors in this range at the moment. Currently priced at a competitive $200 this cpu is a good performance addition for our build. Looking through our price records we noticed that this processor was seen on 1st Dec 2020 priced at $161.03.

Looking at motherboard prices and features the competitively priced $72.99 ASRock Intel B365 ATX LGA1151 certainly takes a well-deserved place in our build. To provide a motherboard pricing benchmark the lowest recorded price we have for the ASRock Intel B365 ATX LGA1151 is $59.99 on 4th Apr 2020.

Perhaps you are after a Nvidia graphics card rather than the one we have added to this build. We have also considered the best value for performance based on today’s prices, with it costing $219.99 at the moment.
