Tekken 7 1080p Ultra Custom PC Build Review

Prices and hardware reviewed and updated: 1st Dec 2020

Here we will create the best priced PC build to run Tekken 7, where it will meet the demands that a game like this will put on a custom PC. Our view is to answer the question, what PC should I buy that can play Tekken 7 really well, and for the best possible price today? Of course our sights are set on returning a good level expereince with max graphics running, running 1080p as the native screen size. Every day we run through our carefully chosen gaming hardware and cherry pick today’s lowest priced hardware components to help us achieve this optimum PC build list.

Today we find Tekken 7 is not in our top demanding games list and currently not figuring in our more popular games lists of today. It also falls in under the Fighting, Arcade game genre types, which itself can influence some of our choices of hardware today, to make sure we better meet the hardware needs of the game. This sort of information will help us build a fuller picture and better understand what to select when putting our best build PC together for the game. Interestingly, it might be worth thinking about the performance of the hardware that the game was originally built on, which would have been from 2017 and shortly before. So the devs themselves may have been aiming for hardware with performance capability from this particular period.

Choosing A Graphics Card For Our 1080p Tekken 7 PC Build

Choosing the graphics card needs to be done correctly and as we are putting together a gamer PC build for Tekken 7 at 1080p ultra graphics we want something with the best price today while returning the best performance for that price. This has led us to the GeForce GTX 1660 Super Asus Dual Evo OC 6GB, which has a good price at the moment, as its currently priced at $239.99. Checking our records our lowest tracked price for this card was on 28th Nov 2019 which had it priced at $229.99. And with that in mind the GeForce GTX 1660 Super Asus Dual Evo OC 6GB is a great match for Tekken 7 at 1080p ultra. It will certainly help us get good FPS. we will highlight those FPS in more detail later in this article. We have seen this card drop its price recently by $47.68 which is part of the reason it has been slotted in to this build.

6GB of VRAM is needed by Tekken 7. This memory acts as a super fast image storage buffer between GPU and CPU and our selected GeForce GTX 1660 Super Asus Dual Evo OC 6GB comes with 6GB of VRAM. This should be a suitable amount for our PC at this gaming resolution.

Selecting The Right Tekken 7 1080p Motherboard and CPU

To accompany the graphics option we have put a compatible motherboard into the build. The MSI B360M PRO-VD Intel mATX LAG1151 motherboard in turn enables us to add the Core i5-9400 6-Core 2.9GHz processor that has the LGA 1151 socket. This CPU is a great fit for Tekken 7 and balances nicely with the GeForce GTX 1660 Super Asus Dual Evo OC 6GB, to help reach the right frame rates at this resolution. We have of course chosen this CPU today because of its price to performance credentials where it is currently priced at $167.77. Looking through our data we can see the lowest price for this cpu was on 4th Aug 2020, which had it marked up at $146.95.

And with the motherboard costing $49.46 this really helps pull the PC we are building together. To help give some depth to the price points for this motherboard, the MSI B360M PRO-VD Intel mATX LAG1151 was priced at $32.99 on 28th Dec 2019.

How To Choose The Best RAM For Tekken 7 At The Right Price

Our Tekken 7 built PC needs some solid performing RAM to enable us to meet the game’s system requirement expectations and achieve the desired FPS at ultra 1080p. The HyperX Fury 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz is capable of meeting those needs, while complementing the Core i5-9400 6-Core 2.9GHz and GeForce GTX 1660 Super Asus Dual Evo OC 6GB of our build and priced at a reasonable $30.99. This RAM was recorded at the lowest price of $32.99, and this was on 19th Oct 2020.

An Alternative Tekken 7 Graphics Card Option for 1080p

Not everyone is interested in going with a Nvidia card, like the one we have opted for in this build. So you could try going for the AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB instead, which comes with a 7% better performance adjustment when compared to GeForce GTX 1660 Super Asus Dual Evo OC 6GB, and is certainly a solid video card choice for our build. We selected it while also considering its current price point, it is costing $699.99 at the moment.
