Below 1080p Ultra Custom PC Build Review

Prices and hardware reviewed and updated: 12th Oct 2020

Here we will create the best priced PC build to run Below, where it will meet the demands that a game like this will put on a custom PC. Our view is to answer the question, what PC should I buy that can play Below really well, and for the best possible price today? We will therefore be aiming to run this game confidently each time with max graphics running, using 1080p monitor resolution. We visit this page every day to check on the prices and selected components we have added for this PC build. Naturally as new better hardware is found we will be adding and swapping to optimise this list with a view to giving us all a good jumping off point regarding expected build quality and pricing levels for our new Below build.

Today we find Below is not in our top demanding games list and currently not figuring in our more popular games lists of today. It also falls in under the Adventure game genre types, which itself can influence some of our choices of hardware today, to make sure we better meet the hardware needs of the game. This sort of information will help us build a fuller picture and better understand what to select when putting our best build PC together for the game. Interestingly, it might be worth thinking about the performance of the hardware that the game was originally built on, which would have been from 2018 and shortly before. So the devs themselves may have been aiming for hardware with performance capability from this particular period.

Choosing A Graphics Card For Our 1080p Below PC Build

We want a punchy GPU for this build and the Radeon RX 560 2GB is currently priced at a competitive $99.99. The lowest price recorded by us so far for the Radeon RX 560 2GB is $99.99 recorded at 28th Nov 2019.. This PC graphics hardware selection is a nice price to performance option when looking to run Below at 1080p ultra graphics. We expect to see some good FPS from this card at these specs. Looking a little deeper at this cards pricing history shows this card has increased its price by $99.99 over the past two weeks.

Selecting The Right Below 1080p Motherboard and CPU

We have selected a MSI B360M PRO-VD Intel mATX LAG1151 motherboard to allow us to then go on and add a great cpu for this Below build. With a LGA 1151 socket type motherboard we choose the well priced Core i3-9100F 4-Core 3.6GHz, which is at the best price to performance for processors in this range at the moment. Currently priced at a competitive $87.6 this cpu is a good performance addition for our build. A good reference point is, a low price for this processor was spotted on 27th May 2020 where we saw it for $59.

Today the MSI B360M PRO-VD Intel mATX LAG1151 competitively costs $49.46, which provides it a place in our build today. Bottom motherboard prices recorded for this mobo was when we saw it at $32.99, on 28th Dec 2019.

How To Choose The Best RAM For Below At The Right Price

Our Below built PC needs some solid performing RAM to enable us to meet the game’s system requirement expectations and achieve the desired FPS at ultra 1080p. The HyperX Fury 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz is capable of meeting those needs, while complementing the Core i3-9100F 4-Core 3.6GHz and Radeon RX 560 2GB of our build and priced at a reasonable $30.99. Lowest RAM prices were recorded for this HyperX Fury 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz when we saw it priced at $30.99, on 19th Oct 2020.

PC Performance Review at 1080p Ultra Settings on Below

With our key performance components in place we are expecting to see this setup running Below at around 64 average frames per second, on 1080p screen resolution. This should be achieved on ultra graphics settings. If you turn a few graphics options down we expect around 90 FPS at high graphics.

Other Popular Game 1080p Ultra Custom PC Builds

We expect Below would also run in higher screen resolutions but this would be 49 FPS average, at 1440p Ultra. We would see an improvement of frame rates if we tweaked the 1440p graphics options to be around the High preset graphics option, which would then return 68 FPS.

How this build performs for other popular games

It’s worth taking into consideration how our Below PC build handles other games. We’ll do this by looking at the current popular titles Grand Theft Auto VI, FIFA 21 and Assassins Creed: Valhalla. Starting with Grand Theft Auto VI we can see that at 1080p we are likely to see 0FPS on Ultra and 0FPS on High graphics settings. Alternatively we see FIFA 21 likely to achieve 106FPS on Ultra and 145FPS when reduced to High. Finally with Assassins Creed: Valhalla at Ultra setting we can expect 21 FPS, raising to 31 FPS on High graphics settings.

An Alternative Below Graphics Card Option for 1080p

Perhaps you are after a Nvidia graphics card rather than the one we have added to this build. If so we would suggest the similar performing GeForce GTX 2050, which has a 1% worse performance variation, but is still a suitable video card choice for this game. We have also considered the best value for performance based on today’s prices, with it costing $149.99 at the moment.
