I would upgrade, first. As more units come out you'll like see sub-30 play. I'm on all-low and 900p. 60 fps becomes 20-ish late-game. Think it's a GPU thing.

Thanks for your advice. I think I'll wait until I get a new notebook in order to play it. :)

Honestly it's not that great. It ain't bad, but in the world of starcraft and aoe this is just "another" rts. All the units look alike, the projectiles are identical for every unit and the overall color pallet is boring.

I've played up to halfway through the human campaign and got bored :/ Overall feeling about this is "meh"

I assume it just depends on taste. I like it, it feels like CnC. (my fav) I may have been just excited about this game since I didnt expect this much from it.

I am able to run this game at 1680x1050 @ low with -30fps on my rig at work, athlon 5350, 2GB ram and amd 5670 1gb ddr5 which is enough for sp... I'm guessing that minimum system requirements they put up are for 1080p with 60fps average.

That's surprising. I get 60-ish in the early game. But in late-game I see 20 and below. I think all the units toward the end strain my GPU. 900p on lowest.

I'd love to know, if you try it. I think this game hogs GPU RAM. I get 60fps early game, sub-20 late. 900p on lowest.

According to Steam reviews, even powerful hardware gets bogged down a bit as the game plays on, so I'd say don't expect to be able to turn up the settings much.

I'm currently running the game at medium-ish settings, if 60% for all the sliders makes sense. I typically see >30 frames if there are more than about 70 units

Well, I'm going to go on a limb and say as of writing the game is just not optimized, even the main menu is definitely running less than 20 frames
