Try low setting at 720p. because that what usually works great for your rig. ;)

Just to be on the safe side, I haven't played this game yet, so I don't have any idea about how this game does exactly work. I just gave you a general benchmark about your rig, which is often runs most games on Low setting at 720p mainly. So in this, your only choice is to test it yourself.

Could I run this game? I have Direct X 11 but my GPU only supports up to 10.1. Oddly enough, the minimum requirements state the game requires DX 11 but the GD adjusted requirements say DX 9. I´m confused.

You Can! I played this with my older rig(Core2Duo E6700 & Geforce 9600GT) which only had directx10 support but when i run it i can chose between DX10 & DX11 So you can!. :)

After my first day I found myself playing civ 5 again. 3 hours of getting beat down by aliens was enough for the night. The game looks amazing though. I'll give it another try tomorrow.

Really? They never attacked me and I even domesticated them and used them as horses :-D

I had 2 bad starts where they were very close and would attack a lone explorer. But my new game I had ways to leave my starting point, and am doing well and having a lot of fun. Kept me up all night though lol.

The small bugs are worse for the most part I've had one outside my first city for like 50 turns and it won't attack.

The minimum requirement of GPU does not support direct x 11 but it is required. It's weird don't you think?

You can possibly play this game, at low settings, at 720p resolution. That should give you a steady and playable frame-rate.

Max settings, easy. With a very good FPS. But it all depends on the optimisation of the game. But still, your rig will be able to power through it.
