It's a fan project developed in source. Devs asked for the proper legal permission from Kojima (the company not the guy) and they said yes (actually seemed enthusiastic) with the guise that the Devs make no profit from it.


However- come a few months legal and Kojimas (company) lawyers start going insane over the project. They forced the devs to shut it down without any real explanation.
