Console System Analysis for Fatal Frame 5: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden
In Fatal Frame 5, players will take control of girl called Kozuyata Yuuri, ‘gifted’ with the ability to see the spirits of the dead. Like The Sixth Sense but this time they’re out to kill you. The spirits of the dead tell Kozuyata that she is possessed with the ability to usher them back into the real world. She must head to the mountain of death, Mount Hikamiyama, where the restless spirits can cross over during the witching hour. Like any good horror it sounds like a recipe for total disaster. The use of a camera is the crux of Fatal Frame’s combat, with the player having to snap pictures of the dead in order to lock their souls away. A Wii U exclusive, Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden will make use of the Wii U’s gamepad as an in-game camera. The Fatal Frame series goes by the name Project Zero in Europe, and this will be the fifth entry in the truly terrifying series. While announced for a Japanese release, no confirmation has arrived just yet on if or when it will arrive in Europe or the US.
