Doom 4: Unto the Evil requires a Radeon R9 290 graphics card with a Core i7-3770 4-Core 3.4GHz or FX-8350 processor to reach the recommended specs, achieving high graphics setting on 1080p. Game debate says my rig is able to play this game. When I play it always runs very very slow. All my drivers are up to date.

The problem is your GPU my friend, I also had the GT 740 I also found Doom 4 very slow. At the time I only an AMD A10 7800 (your CPU is better) but after upgrading my graphics card to the GTX 970 and it played like a dream.

Before I upgraded to get the game to play better, I disconnected my internet & disabled my security I found this helped. I would suggest upgrading your GPU to a 4GB card of your choice buddy. I hope this helps.
