Maybe you're running apps in the backround?
You should lower battle size to about 20-50, that should help

It's a great game, but not the best mount & blade game. Warband adds multiplayer which is lacking in this game. For only $4 from Amazon, though, it is totally worth it!

Why are there not anymore games like this?!

If a company like blizzard would make a game like this it would be all over the news!!

I hope Paradox will make more games!

Seebaruk, for the tweaks, do try some off the mods, everything there from magic to "Being the King" with many different time periods modelled.

For "more experienced input" you just have to try "Onin No Ran" the samurai mod. put together by a bunch of Medieval Japanese experts without peer. You have to roll back to version ,903 of M&B to run it ATM but the atmosphere is worth it even tho the mod is still in beta.

Definately the best hand to hand combat game I've played. I take your point about the learning curve, but once you "get it" combat is really intuitive, and mostly about timing and tactics.

If the MMORPGS had this combat system I'm sure I'd still be paying my tithe to EQII, LOTRO and Guildwars.

Hey guys. Mount & Blade is definitely a ridiculously ambitious game, and should inspire other developers hoping to deliver a realistic RPG with serious depth. The sheer amount of detail simply included in the character bio's was astounding. Considering this is Taleworlds' first game, it shows that they're definitely a developer to watch. I can't help but feel that with a few decent tweaks, and some more experienced input, the game would have been a classic.

And eagerly awaited are the "Ports" (bringing up to current game version) of "Onin No Ran" set in Medieval Japan, "Holy War"....the crusades, and "Hegemony 268BC"....Romans and Spartans and Goths, Oh my!

Check out their progress at the Taleworlds Forum under "Current Mods".... But first, buy the game, you'll never look at a boiled egg the same way again..:-)

My favourites are "Brutality" mod: Think its frustrating to get beaten and have to go back to a saved game? Try "dying" and starting again from the cradle.:(  "Expanded gameplay" with different and tougher enemies: "Eagle and the Radiant Cross" with early firearms; Britain 1296 without the benefits of heavy plate armour; "The Hundred Years War" mod set in medieval France where longbows and the flower of French chivalry rulle the battlefield.

Conquering the whole of Calradia is just the beginning. After "Native" the vanilla out-of-the-box game, you will want to sample some of the amazing mods that folks have built on this very moddable platform.
