Game is RAM and CPU intensive, on high you may have 60FPS in peaceful zones, if you will use DX9, DX11 isn't perfectly released, also it's MMORPG on Cryengine so FPS drops are guaranteed.

My rig meets recommended requirements, yet it won't run smoothly even at Medium settings. DX9 or DX11, either way it has the same output, unless I lower my res.

Turn off HDR and SSAO, also change "Action mode" and "Classic Mode" in menu and look what it will give.
Also I recommend you to use DX9 for stable FPS in masses.
This game isn't optimized at all, also created on Cryengine, it's good graphical engine, but worst for Multiprocess games as ara MMORPGs.

It was none of the above. I checked nvdia graphics panel and found that nvdia optimus was forcing intel graphics for ArcheAge and i couldn't even change it

Game isn't GPU intensive, but illogically eats RAM resources, badly optimized, but you should get Tweaked high setting without problems (60 FPS), but: 1. DX11 is badly release even for high end machines so better use DX9 (if you're not graphicall maniac you will not see differences). 2. it's MMO so in massive territories like cities or PvPE battles you will have huge FPS drops, it's Cryengine so nothing will help there.

You should handle Ultra without any problems, with some FPS jumps in Masses (Cities, mass PvP, atc...).

Try it, this Game is 4 free. But with your rig, yes maybe on low. Bu you will have a hard time in cities or group fights.

Ok, thanks, I think I'll give it a go (Maybe it's better optimised for the PC I'm using, I've heard it's very strange when it comes to that :S )

In my experience it's very RAM intensive and your RAM is more than enough to play it smoothly, also as any MMORPG it will push CPU too, can't say how your will handle it, and your video is quite enough to play it on tweaked settings (if use DX 9, DX 11 in this game is badly released for high-end machines too).
Also it's F2P so try it, game works quite differently on different machines.

I played it on my old machine and couldn't do 60 fps, so I wonder if what I have now will work.

Game is RAM intensive and created on Cryengine and cos works as a tractor, but with this rig you will not have less then 50FPS in PvP, normally you will have 120FPS I think.

as long as you have decent INternet, probably. I'm above minimum and plan to give it a try, so if I can run it fine, I know you can without issue. If I remember to I'll update this post to let you know for certain

okay I did try it, and I got -30FPS in the open worlds, everything set on low, at 1360x768, except character models which were at the first step up from low.
IN settlements I dropped to 10-15FPS, but there were a lot of NPCs and characters. You'll probably have to run at a lower res though, 720p like I ran, not 1080p.

I'd say maybe low, it's free2play so you can always download it and try. definitely don't see you running it at 1080p though. Despite decent hardware, the game's just too demanding.

In peaceful zones on low settings you will have smooth enough gameplay, but forget about big cities, forests, farms, PvE content, PvP and Sea battles. Official sys reqs show what specs you need to run it, but not to play it.
Game works as a tractor even on high-end machines.

32 GB RAM, 3.6 Ghz..?..

Enjoy on Ultra (-120 FPS), but don't forget it's MMORPG in open world, so you may have FPS drops in areas where are a lot of other players.

try on low, but not sure if you will run it smoothly cos of your CPU (game is very unstable and have really bad optimization), also you RAM is enough to run it on med to high and GPU norm to run it low.

yeah you'll be fine on low, you might get a framerate drop in highly populated areas though.
