Dirt Showdown requires a Radeon HD 6750 graphics card with a Core i7-860 Quad 2.80GHz or Phenom II X4 B50 processor to reach the recommended specs, achieving high graphics setting on 1080p. u can run it at high 1080p MSAA 4x but not highest, and u might have disable advance lightning...

i bought this game today from my friend legal copy i installed it when i try to launch it show codemaster logo and dirt showdown logo then crAsh to desktop every time my driver direct x all things are up to date...what to do?

Sounds like your rig can't draw the graphics since at that point the menu should come up with the game graphics at the background... :(
I'm not quite sure but maybe your GPU just isn't enough for this.

Maybe. Even though it says here that a 8600GT is required to play this game and that's 1% better than your current GPU. The problem too might be that this game doesn't support Laptop Integrated Graphics. I had a laptop with an Intel HD graphics 3000 and I couldn't play AC Revelations because of that!

When that was my case, I would maybe choose to improve the graphics until I reach 50 FPS.... ;) What's your increase of happiness from 67 to 112 FPS (excluding the fact graphics are much worse....)? ;) Btw: what's your screen's max. refresh rate? >75FPS (without V-sync) means tearing (without D3DOverrider) in my case --> 75Hz refresh rate!

Maybe. But a smooth gameplay wud be guaranteed. There's a noticeable difference between 37fps n 67fps. Wats d point of making a game 'look' better if u cant 'run' better? ;)

Yeah, 67 FPS is great, I wouldn't go for 37 FPS either ;) For me, it's still frame rate > graphics...but 50 FPS is very acceptable for me :)

Try to guess your frame rate without Fraps and then turn Fraps on, are we right about it most of the times? ;)

the fps test i am get in game benchmark , on high settings i get 32-40fps , runs not smoothly , i think its very optimized for my video card and more THE GAME AWESOME !!!!!!!!

I think you should get more fps because your GPU is %21 better than mine according to GD and your CPU is %20 overclocked, because I get constant 54-66 fps on 1280x1024 at high details with 4x msaa, I wonder why really.

I loved dirt 2 and 3 the, rally, trail blazer and all the other cool race formats i think they have actually make dirt showdown worse then 2 and 3 as a result of the lack of different types of races. I am not sure if they will keep doing this type of thing in the future, i hope not so because it really makes the game boring after about 30 min. I think they just turned dirt into a demolition derby instead of actual racing.

I agree, DiRT, DiRT 2 and DiRT 3 is too good to be smashed down to this level... The graphics and car damage in this game is amazing though :)

Yeah, that could be right, but I would suggest that you lower down the settings for the max fps, since that's what matter most in racing games :D

I run this game at 63 fps with everything high 4xaa with only shadows on medium,so I am sure you can play it on medium-high with your resolution,just reduce shadows and turn off aa if you wont like the fps.

As I said some time ago, my beautiful and precious wife broke it :( It still works but it's pretty hard to play with it... I think I'll just see if the game works with it ;) But I'm going to test my (very cheap) gamepad to see if it supports any other gamepads then the Xbox 360 one :D I try to get every angle on it since it'll be my first GD review of a racing game (GT5 doesn't count, that was all me) :D

I played the demo on ultra low and got +/- 60 fps. I could play on higher settings with 30 fps, but my laptop already went superhot (70 degrees). Is that normal and should I risk to raise my settings?

Hey man, nice system and not bad results! :) Unfortunately in most 'laptop cases' the RAM and CPU can 'do' much more than the GPU (outbalanced...)! But about your question: It's a fact the Tjunction of your CPU is 100C (max. core temp before shutdown = way too hot), your Tcase should be around 95C = danger limit <--> GPU: by intuition I would say you shouldn't worry until your GPU reach more than 80C! Due to airflow and cooling possibilities, laptop hardware is made to survive such 'hot weather' :D So I would say you should be doing fine and wouldn't call 70C superhot. Depending on YOUR acceptable frame rate, you can safely go for better graphics ;) Btw: 70C on what settings?

Agreed, laptops are usually designed in a way that they won't 'overheat' with 100% load ;) Unless it's full of dust and/or kept next to the oven :D

Well, considering your screen resolution, which is 1080p HD that would be the best FPS that you can get, if you had a lower resolution screen or decreased the screen resolution a bit, you should be able to get more FPS. ;)
