Unlike many games, performance seems CPU rather than GPU constrained. Been searching forever for the best rig to decrease turn times in late game on large and huge maps with 12 civs and 16 city states. Any luck out there?

low or tweaked medium for good fps. Have a laptop just like yours, and while you could run high pretty decently, in large scale games and after a while in a session you'll get pretty low fps and constant drops.

I can run it with Intel 82845G, but the graphics are messed up. It was fine until it just happened one day.

Yes, it adds 9 new factions, 27 new units, 13 new buildings, 9 new wonders, the espionage and religion mechanics, 2 new city state types, an enhanced combat system.... it's a lot of new content.

I can run the game with good enough graphics, but when it gets to late-game, and I end my turn, it takes very long to load, becuase my CPU has a hard time calculating all of the moves and actions, ect. Is there a way I can optimize so that the game runs beter and doesn't need to perform so many calculations, while still retaining my good looking graphics?

Can somebody tell me what this game is gaining and lacking in? I'm a HUGE fan of Civ 5, but I still haven't gotten this game yet, and I just want to be sure. Can you say the ups, and the downs (if there are any)?
