Hmm... Not sure. Your CPU is fine for high settings and RAM for minimum. The only issue is GPU. I am honestly not sure. The Halo Infinite Multiplayer is free on Steam. Just download it, start up a game against bots in training mode, and see how it runs. I would highly recommend sticking to 1280x720 or at most 1600x900 and all low settings. Also turn motion blur down to zero and disable speed lines. Set minimum fps to 30 and maximum to unlocked; also disable vsync.

i5-6600K plus GTX 1070 and 16 GB RAM? I would say high settings at 1920x1080, AA turned to low, motion blur turned to zero, speed lines disabled, shadows at low or medium. Set minimum fps to 30 and maximum unlocked with vsync disabled (this seems to give me the most consistent performance).

Max detail settings at 1920x1080 or may be even 2560x1440 (assuming you have that resolution). Not sure about fps. Set minimum fps on video settings to 30, maximum fps unlocked, vsync disabled.

Ryzen 5 3550H laptop CPU with GTX 1650 GDDR5 Mobile could manage the Infinite Insider very smoothly on medium. Your Ryzen 5 2600 and RX 5500 XT are both 1.5 times as powerful respectively. You'll be fine.

Well that was somewhat short-lived... I could run it just fine, but the game itself felt like a real letdown.

The soundtrack, weapon/vehicle spawns, map designs gunplay and overall atmosphere felt way worse than halo 3 (which was released in 2007!) or hell even worse than halo 4.

For example; Getting splatter kills is nigh-impossible and they even removed assassinations and loadouts.

My favourite part of Halo multiplayer was how chaotic and fast paced it was. Hopping into a warthog with the bois and seeing if you can run an enemy over before they flip your squad-car with a frag. Now I can literally go at full speed with a warthog and hit an enemy dead-on only to flip as if i just hit a tree or something while the enemy continues minding their own business. Assassinations and loadouts also made the experience feel way more personalized. In Infinite you've got goons camping at the weapon spawn locations 24/7 so getting one of your preferred weapons is really difficult and if you die you have to go try your luck at finding one again before you can actually somewhat enjoy playing the game again.

It's just an overall worse experience that has next gen graphics :(

Note sure. May be? RTX 3060 is no pushover and manages Far Cry 6 on max settings according to Notebookcheck. And Infinite is definitely not going to be as demanding as Far Cry 6. Again, though; Not 100% sure on this.

Had the opportunity to play the multiplayer insider.

IF YOU HAVE AN R9 200 - 300 SERIES GPU CONSIDER UPGRADING NOW! The R9 300 series and older have had no more driver updates (21.5.2) since mid 2021 and the game advises you that you have drivers 21.7.2.

I own an R9 390 8GB. The game ran, BUT it was necessary to turn down and off all settings including resolution to achieve 30fps, but unfortunately the framerate was still very unstable.

For the hell of it, I installed a GTX 1660 4GB that I borrowed from a computer I was servicing for a coworker. This alone allowed me to play at 1080p med-low settings, stable 30fps. This isn't a good comparison, but I think it still enforces that the outdated drivers belonging to the R9 390 are the greatest culprit for unstable framerate.

Do keep in mind that my severly outdated 2009 processor (Intel Core i7 975) has no doubt played a factor, but I am going to safely assume that the most dramatic impact was my GPU.

Can confirm about the driver issue. A friend of mine had issues running Infinite Insider on low-medium on a rig with a Ryzen 7 3800, RX 580, 16 GB RAM. Once he updated to the latest drivers, he was able to run the game on medium-high settings.

This was all on 1920x1080 resolution, by the way.

Played the Infinite Insider on laptops with CPU and GPU just a bit above the minimum requirements. Ryzen 5 3550H + GTX 1650M GDDR5 + 8 GB RAM and Ryzen 5 5500U + GTX 1650M GDDR6 + 16 GB RAM. Both could manage 60 fps steady on medium settings with AA on low. So those with older upper middle class systems from 2015-16 should easily be able to run this game on at least low-medium. But the loading times... Regardless of CPU & GPU model, I highly recommend 16 GB RAM and NVMe SSD (or at least SATA SSD if NVMe is not possible).

Further update:

It seems the GTX 1650 Mobile GDDR6 in my laptop could theoretically manage high settings @ 1920x1080 in Halo Infinite. It managed only a 34 fps average outdoors and 46 fps average indoors. Highest fps went was 59. However, while running Infinite in high settings, CPU usage on my Ryzen 5 was usually between 22% and 35% only. Seems like another Crysis Remastered kind of problem where low CPU usage creates a bottleneck that holds the GPU back.

Before i'd be able to see how my parts compared to that of the recommended parts just by hovering over the respective model names...

Now with this terrible new UI I can't even check that.

Have to manually enter my parts into the "Can i run" tool...

Such bs. Might stop using this site entirely.
