The game is the sequel to Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Lost Planet 2 takes place on the same planet of E.D.N. III albeit before the events of the first two games. The game will take a more story-driven narrative approach to the campaign similar to the first game.
The game takes place long before the events of the first game, and hence the planet of E.D.N. III is still in an ice-age like environment rather than the tropical environment of the second game that occurs after the events of the first game. It takes place during the time of the first few human colonists on E.D.N. III sent there by the Neo-Venus Construction company or NEVEC, who later become the main antagonists for the series.
To run Lost Planet 3 on high graphics settings your PC will require at least a 0MB GeForce GTX 460 / Radeon HD 6850 XFX with a Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66GHz or Athlon II X4 630 CPU. 8 GB will also be needed to achieve the Lost Planet 3 rec specs and get 60FPS. To be able to run at all you will need at least 3 GB system memory. Another thing to consider is the DirectX capability of your GPU. Lost Planet 3 needs a GPU capable of running DirectX 10. We suggest a 10 year old PC to play smoothly.
