Fortnite runs on the Unreal Engine game engine. Fortnites requires a Radeon HD 7870 graphics card with a Core i5-760 2.8GHz or FX-8100 processor to reach the recommended system specs, achieving high graphics setting on 1080p in Fortnites battle royal. The system memory required for Fortnite is 8 GB performance memory and the Fortnite minimum RAM requirements are 4 GB system memory. Another thing to consider is the DirectX capability of your GPU. Fortnite needs a GPU capable of running DirectX 11. Based on our comprehensive Fortnite system requirements analysis we recommend around a 6 year old PC to run fortnite smoothly at 60 FPS on high graphics settings. So Fortnite has been developed to be very accessible, even to aging computers and laptops. However, we feel that it is not worth trying to run Fortnite on the official minimum requirements as you will seriously struggle to be able to play Fortnite with that sort of PC hardware. Fortnite recommended requirements are reliable though, just dont try running Fortnite on integrated graphics, so laptops will still want dedicated GPU hardware before considering running Fortnite online.
