This game's retail version seems to be completely full of bugs, when I had it on Steam it was fine, but the DVD version I have now is just broken. I get 20 FPS on average, increasing to 25 when I turn it down to minimum settings. I downloaded the newest patch, thinking it would fix this issue, but instead I had to re-install the game because it kept saying I had the wrong disk inserted. I have tried compatibility mode and everything, I just want to know if it is possible to get the game to run at a playable framerate.

It's a turn-based RPG, you don't need to go higher than a consistent 25-30 FPS. Here's the complete guide: "http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic\#How_to_install_the_disc_version_of_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic_on_Windows_Vista_.2F_7". This made the game run completely fine for me (aside from a few unresolved issues that are easy to ignore).

Oh, and by the way, even though the Win 7 fix takes a lot of time and patience, it's completely worth it in the end. This is one of the absolute best Star Wars games and one of my favourite RPGs of all time.

I'll say what I think. Your GPU is an intel Graphics MEDIA ACELERATOR, it wasn't made for gaming, it's used to play videos... Remember that this is what i THINK, i'm not sure, but it may be helpful.
Please reply ;D

You need to download a patch that allows for you to play on Win 7/Vista. After that you should be fine.

Try a different "crack", pirates use them but sometimes they fix some issues. Did you run it in compatibility mode.?
