When I first got this game, I had to try many different settings to get it to run well, finally managed to get it to run ok on medium settings. I´ve played all the AITD games on pc and even the third game on ps2 and I have to say that this one is the best of them all. I was never really completely satisfied with any of them concerning the horror or gameplay, I have played alot of horror games that give you chills and frantic gameplay, AITD doesn´t give me that, exept for maybe the third game, where you venture into the dark world near the end of the game. Now about Central Dark, some missions at the start are annoyingly frustrating and difficult but once you get into Central Park you are in control for once. Love the option of hijacking cars and driving like crazy into those monsters, then getting out, throwing a plastic molotov at them and shooting the bottle bursting it into flames! The monsters are menacing but in a fps kind of way, they should have upped the scare factor more. But it´s a good game nontheless, you just gotta look at it as an action-horror fps where your character is the only hope of mankind, which of course, he is. I was a bit let down by the ending though.

Any fans of AITD should also check out Alone In The Dark the movie, I think it really captures the action part of the series, good movie, but only as an action movie, not very scary.

I was gutted when this game turned out quite buggy and unpolished. I loved the originals and really hoped this would be a natural progression for the series. Which version did you review, Gidzilla? I've heard the PS3 version sorts out some of the issues, but is still far from a classic.
