That's definitely the impression Myst gives off, but there's actually a fairly deep and decent story, which is expanded through the series.A lot of it comes through books that you find, so it's skippable for people who just like puzzles.
Adventure games are fantastic for long journeys - I've survived many a trip up North thanks to my laptop.
Never played Myst. It looked from the outside like a series of puzzles with no real plot - of course, I could just be completely mistaken. Dracula would be a cool option for a laptop if you were going on a long journey, or a regular commute - the system requirements are really gentle.
Heh, the monocle definitely sold it, Squee :) Sounds like a good adventure, in a similar style to the old Myst games. Did you ever play those? Myst 2 (Riven) was ridiculously difficult, mostly because of its non-linear nature and a handful of brain-pummeling puzzles, but the others are masterpieces, especially IV.
